David Lyttle – Artist In Residence

We are delighted to announce Ireland’s first MOBO Award nominee, David Lyttle, as Artist In Residence.

Supported by the David H Irvine Award and working from The MAC Belfast, David will spend early 2016 writing new music, delivering workshops, mentoring, and performing, on the run up to the Brilliant Corners jazz festival in March.

“Moving on Music, through support from the David H Irvine Award, is delighted to be working with David Lyttle, who’s work within the music sector and particularly jazz, has been incredibly important. This is evident with his well-deserved MOBO Award nomination this year, making him the first Irish artist ever, to be nominated in the urban music awards.” – Michael Bonner, Moving On Music

As part of the Artist in Residence programme, David will work with a small number of young musicians to create new ensembles, offer advice, rehearsal space, developmental work, and writing new music. There will also be performance opportunities within the Brilliant Corners festival in March 2016.

This is a call for young musicians (aged 16 – 22 yrs. old) who would like to take part in this exciting project. Applicants must be available for meeting and rehearsing evenings and weekends, between 10th January and 7th March at the MAC Belfast.

To apply, email info@movingonmusic.com with a short paragraph about yourself and your musical experience, along with a video/audio link to some of your music.
