As part of TEMPERED – Contemporary Music week, Belfast

The Yurodny Ensemble was founded in 2007 by saxophonist and composer Nick Roth, and performs contemporary interpretations of traditional music from around the world alongside new works by composers inspired by these traditions.

The 9-piece ensemble have released critically acclaimed albums on the Diatribe label, and performed at numerous major international festivals and venues across Europe. We are delighted to welcome Yurodny to Belfast as they perform at this years’ TEMPERED – Contemporary Music Week.

“Evenset is surely one of the most significant releases to come out of Ireland in decades.”

“This is huge and absolutely glorious. The spirit of a Zappa big band, but with Ukrainian traditional music in Ireland. [Haivka]..is more than my thesaurus can come up with enough words to describe. It’s wild, it’s big, it’s constantly changing…passion, loss and agony, intense, massively vivid, moving wonderfulness.”
