Til Things Get Back to Normal

As expected, live events are on hold for the foreseeable. We’re all adjusting to this new way of working and living. We’ve plenty of gigs planned for later in the year, but in the meantime we need to support artists and help where we can. Broadcast events and live streaming are great and we are delighted to see so many happening. There seems to be plenty for now so we are focusing on

IOU Series

This informal series will see us engage with artists we were due to work with in the near future, sponsoring them to develop ideas and/or create music, that will be performed at a later date. It will provide some income and allow for musicians to be introspective during this period. We hope to expand this series as the lockdown continues, but for now artists involved in the IOU Series are:

  • Jack Kelly & David Lyttle
  • Rachel Newtown
  • TRU
  • Pete Devlin & James Joys
  • Ruth McGinley & Ryan Vail

More TBA

We were successful in securing funding to commission seven artists to create new work. Some of this work was due to take place in the Jazz Promotion Network Conference we were due to host in June. Obviously this has been cancelled. We will continue to commission all artists, and include performance opportunities later in the year and within Brilliant Corners Jazz Festival 2021. The commissioned artists are:

  • Deirdre Gribben
  • Aine Mallon
  • Meilana Gillard
  • Scott Flanigan
  • Steve Davis
  • Jennifer Walshe
  • Robocobra Quartet
2020/21 Emerging Artist Programme

This is the final year of our Emerging Artist programme and have decided to extend the programme to ensure the artists involved will not lose any time/resources during the lockdown period. In the meantime, feel free to check out the selected artists and their work

This video concert series will feature a selection of artists performing from their homes (pre-recorded). Beginning in June the Little MOM Concert series will run for 10 weeks initially, but may be extended. Artist included will reflect our live programme and will feature musicians from classical, experimental, jazz, folk and other backgrounds.

Online lessons

Many of the artists we work with offer online tutorials. It’s a great way to support musicians and develop your own playing. We’ve put together a list below and will add to it regularly.

If you go to the Past Gigs page of the site, artists have been linked to heir own website for you to explore their work.
