Maverick ‘Flook’ and ‘Lau’ frontmen, Brian Finnegan and Aidan O'Rourke, join forces with ace young guitarist Ian Stephenson and master drummer Jim Goodwin to travel a daring and innovative new musical path. Both Brian and Aidan are held in the highest regard as composers, and here they bring their new compositions and traditional tunes to life with scintillating style. These four have an alchemy that is wonderfully hypnotic, the perfect balance between grace and power, sunlight and shade - a uniquely thrilling union.
The reputations of Aidan O'Rourke (Lau) and Brian Finnegan (Flook) have made KAN extremely popular already. Brian Finnegan was a nominee for Best Musician in this year's BBC Folk Awards, while Aidan O'Rourke, aside from his work with the multi-award-winning Lau, has recently been commissioned to write a new work for the London Olympics in 2012.
KAN's first major UK tour last Autumn received rave reviews from audiences and presenters alike ("awesomely joyous!", "absolutely fantastic, the audience were suitably wowed and electrified by what they heard"), and they have continued blazing their trail this year, with performances throughout Europe.
